A second trailer for "Mars Underground" has been released from lone developer, Matt Sanderson. The trailer is one minute long and it showcases many of the game's activities and visual style while welcoming gamers to its main setting, the world of Phobos.

Though short, the trailer manages to showcase some of the unique quirks found in the game such as stores that have nothing good to sell, a nightclub and a town festival. It is also shown that every night the world ends and this continues in an endless loop.

Stories where the same day happens repeatedly has been done in films like "Groundhog Day" and "Donnie Darko." According to Dual Shockers, the creator did state these films have been major influences and "Mars Underground" is also emulating 16-Bit SNES RPGs and LucasArts adventure games.

One of the main goals of the game is to discover what is really going on and achieve one of the title's multiple endings. The game does utilize the same graphical style as SNES classics like "Earthbound" and "Chrono Trigger" but its style of gameplay emulates adventure games like "The Secret of Monkey Island."

The official Kickstarter page has also announced that the playable demo can be downloaded or played directly on a browser. The game has also launched on Steam Greenlight and has already reached half of its target Kickstarter goal. As of the time of writing, the campaign has earned over AU$1,782.

"Mars Underground" is currently scheduled to release on PC, Mac and Linux. A port for both iOS and Android platforms are scheduled to follow suit. Sanderson also pointed out on the Kickstarter page that a console port may be developed but only after the game has released on the aforementioned platforms.

No official release date has yet been announced but "Mars Underground" is scheduled to launch by September 2017. No release window has yet been stated for its mobile ports.
