Huawei has confirmed that the Honor 8 smartphone will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update by February 2017. The rollout will include the company's very own EMUI 5.0, which will overlaid on top of the mobile operating system.

According to Droid-Life, the Chinese company sent out emails to media outlets revealing when it will roll out the update and what it will offer. Aside from the goodness that the latest Android operating system will bring in, such as the split-screen mode, power manage improvements and several more, the new  user interface will also bring support for running multiple profiles at the same time. This feature will benefit those who have different work and personal profiles on their Honor 8 phones.

Additionally, it was reported that an enhanced power management system will be included in the company's own user interface that will bring more battery saving options to its phone user. An App Lock feature will also allow its user to lock certain apps, as well as a machine learning algorithm that optimizes the phone's resources to prioritize the owner's mostly used apps over the others, Android Central reported.

The EMUI 5.0 coming to Honor 8 is said to be strikingly similar to the one installed to the Huawei Mate 9. According to the feedback coming from the beta testers of the Nougat beta on the Honor phone, it looks closer to a stock Android and responds fairly well to less powerful hardware and phones with a smaller screen size.

The Honor 8 was first released in July in China, while the United States and Europe received it in August. The device features a 5.2-inch 1080p display screen and is powered by a Kirin 950 processor. This is paired with 4 GB of RAM, and there are variants with either 32 or 64 GB internal storage, expandable up to 256 GB via a microSD card.

It also houses a Leica-marked dual-camera setup with two 12 MP, f/2.2, 35 mm lenses as well as laser autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. A 3,000 mAh battery is also included.

The Huawei Honor 8 is expected to receive the EMUI 5.0 and Android 7.0 Nougat update by February 2017. Below is a hands on video of Honor 8:
