"Anaconda" singer Nicki Minaj will join forces with boyfriend Meek Mill at a New Year's Eve party in Miami, Florida, as replacement to Latina superstar Jennifer Lopez who backed out of the gig. The project is reportedly worth $1 million.
Nicki the Ninja came into the rescue in handling entertainment duties at E11even nightclub in Miami in celebration of the year 2017 in lieu of Lopez's backing out on Dec. 20 because of her desire to spend the holidays with her family, Belfast Telegraph reported
Despite rumors of their split up, Minaj will join rapper lover Meek Mill who will rake in $220,000 for his performance at Dream Nightclub in South Beach. Minaj's take home pay, however, is still not disclosed but according to sources, Lopez sacrificed a $1 million payday when she gave up her spot in the gig.
The tickets for the event start at $340 which is inclusive of two hours of open bar and a champagne toast at midnight, according to Billboard. Some tickets reach as much as $500, an increase of almost half the price of the original tickets.
The New Year's Eve gig will cap off what critics would say Minaj's year. A few weeks ago, a game based on Minaj was released where the players control the 34-year-old rapper into building her reputation in the hip-hop industry. The game is called "Nicki Minaj: The Empire" and it is free for both the App Store and Google Play.
Also, Minaj tied with pop superstar Taylor Swift in second-most appearances on the Hot 100 when it comes to solo women with 70 songs each to at least spend a week on the list of the 100 most popular songs in the United States. Both singers are just behind the No. 1 Aretha Franklin who holds the record with 73 songs.
