'Kingdom Hearts 3' rumors: The Seven Guardians of Light will be new characters; Utada Hikaru to work on 'KH3' soundtrack!

Kingdom Hearts 3 is an action-RPG developed by Square Enix for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

The latest details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will feature the Seven Guardians of Light as new characters and J-pop star Utada Hikaru working on the sequel's soundtrack.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding the identities of the Seven Guardians of Light in "Kingdom Hearts 3" as it is hinted that they could be fresh new characters within the sequel, GameNGuide reported.

Twitter username ArikaMiz tweeted photos of Square Enix's new Play Arts Kai of Sora and the packaging revealed several information regarding the sequel's main storyline.

According to the synopsis, Sora and his friends must gather the Seven Guardians of Light in order to defeat Master Xehanort and his new Organization XIII from spreading darkness across the universe, culminating into another Keyblade War.

Sora along with Goofy and Donald Duck will be travelling to new and exciting Disney worlds that they and the gamers have not seen before, meeting new characters, as well as fighting new foes.

Meanwhile, Sora's bestfriend Riku will have his own mission to seek out a battle-scarred Keyblade wielder along with King Mickey. It unknown as to who is the Keyblade wielder that Riku and King Mickey are searching for, but it seems that this person will play an important role in the coming Keyblade War.

For now, Square Enix has not yet made any comments on whether the Seven Guardians of Light are new characters making their debut to the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise and will likely more information soon.

In other news, it seems that Japanese pop singer Utada Hikaru will be working on "Kingdom Hearts 3's" soundtrack.

Hikaru's father and manager Teruzane confirmed the reports via tweet stating they are eager to do the soundtrack of the game. The Japanese singer was very well known to making the sound tracks of the "Kingdom Hearts" series such as "Simple and Clean" and "Passion".

Square Enix teased "Kingdom Hearts 3" will introduce new Disney worlds both present and new ones that have not been added in the game. The confirmed worlds include "Hercules", "Tangled" and "Big Hero 6", while other worlds such as "Frozen", "Brave", "Wreck-it Ralph", "The Jungle Book", "Toy Story" and many more are being considered, Gamingbolt reported.

Game co-director Tai Yasue also teased that Sora and company will meet characters from the Star Wars and Marvel franchises in "Kingdom Hearts 3", but it will take awhile for Square Enix to acquire the rights from Disney. Multiple sources speculated that the cancellation of "Disney Infinity" could be the window for Square Enix to gain the licensed rights of Marvel and Star Wars and be included in "Kingdom Hearts 3" development.

There are rumors that "Kingdom Hearts 3" could be ported for the PC as Square Enix's recent focus on bringing previously console exclusive games to the PC. The Japanese developers plans to have an episodic style launch for "Kingdom Hearts 3" as Nomura stated in an interview that there are plans for a episodic release due to the fact that the scale of the sequel's story will be huge and he is overwhelmed about it.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is speculated to be release on 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
