After rumors spread that World Wrestling Entertainment superstar John Cena would not be seeing much action in the prestigious wrestling promotion behind reports of him pursuing a serious acting job in Hollywood, 'The Face of the WWE' himself said that he will not be ditching the league for Tinseltown.

Cena made his much-awaited return on the WWE ring on SmackDown on Tuesday after going on a hiatus to prioritize projects outside the WWE. He had been gone from the promotion since mid-October to work on TV and film projects, even hosting the Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago, FOX Sports reported.

2016 is quite not the year for the 39-year-old macho man after undergoing surgery in early January, delaying his return until May 30. After engaging in a feud with AJ Styles, he lost twice on pay-per-view, including Summerslam before going on a hiatus to prioritize his hosting duties in the second season of American Grit and to promote his 2017 film, "The Wall."

Upon his appearance, the 15-time WWE champion challenged the victor of the Triple Threat match, who turned out to be Styles, at the Royal Rumble. A rematch between Styles and Cena for the WWE championship is expected on Jan. 24 next year.

Cena said that while people are saying that he is a "part-timer" and he has gone to Hollywood and would never come back, his WWE career is not yet done. "The Marine" actor also threw a subtle jab at WWE's New Era and said that it is "b*llsh**," Rolling Stones reported.

'Super Cena' has three films to be released in 2017, namely, "Surf's Up 2: WaveMania, a film he stars in along with fellow WWE superstars, "The Wall" and "The Pact." He appeared in 2015 silver screen hits "Trainwreck," "Sisters" and "Daddy's Home."
