A South Korean foundation that supports aspiring jewelry designers became the recipient of Song Hye Kyo's generous donation. The "Descendants of the Sun" actress bequeathed the monetary reward she received from winning a legal case against a jewelry company to the Beautiful Foundation.

Song recently donated 150 million won (approximately $124,000) to the non-profit organization Beautiful Foundation. The said organization made the announcement to local reporters on Dec. 28, Wednesday, where a large percentage of the donation came from the financial damages that Song received from the company J.ESTINA.

The "Descendants of the Sun" star also added an undisclosed figure from her personal funds to increase the donation amount. Moreover, the actress specifically asked the said foundation to utilize her donation in assisting young individuals who are just starting their career in jewelry making, Yonhap quoted the organization's representative as saying.

Song was involved in a legal case against the J.ESTINA in the early part of 2016 where the said jewelry company used photo stills of the actress from the KBS series "Descendants of the Sun" without getting her approval. Despite the jewelry maker's claims that it can use the drama's images since the company had a sponsorship contract with the show, the court ruled in favor of the actress.

Meanwhile, several months after KBS aired its hit series "Descendants of the Sun," the drama continues to gain impressive achievements. Recently, Google released its trending topics for 2016 where the KBS drama made it the top ten list of most searched TV shows.

Song's drama landed at number nine on Google's trending TV shows in 2016 and is the only South Korean series that made to the list. Topping the said chart is the sci-fi drama "Stranger Things," followed by HBO's "Westworld" and Netflix's "Luke Cage."

"Descendants of the Sun" aired from February until mid-April in KBS. Watch one of Song's funny scenes in the said drama below:
