Miss Universe 2016 Philippines' bet Maxine Medina

Expectations are high for Miss Universe 2016 PH bet Maxine Medina, especially since the outgoing queen is also from the Philippines - Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

In an Instagram post that Medina's mentor and Philippine-renowned beauty queen trainer Jonas Gaffud shared, Medina teased on her signature walk for the upcoming Miss Universe 2016 and she is now ready to take on the other contestants in the pageant.

The Philippines' bet showed off how she will walk the runway in the competition. Beauty queens have their signature walks that aim to set them apart from other contestants such as Venus Raj's Cat walk, Shamcey Supsup's Tsunami walk, and Janine Tugonon's Cobra walk. Maxine has no namesake for her walk yet. However, the beauty queen's walk is very important in winning the pageant since they will mostly walk and model the ramp in the competition.

Filipinos are keeping their fingers crossed that Maxine will bag the crown this year and will give the Philippines a back-to-back win. Pia Alonzo Wurtbach has become triumphant last year in winning the highly coveted crown giving the Philippines its third win in the Miss Universe pageant.

Maxine previously admitted in an interview that she is nervous and she felt as if she is not fully prepared for the competition. Miss Universe 2016 will be held on January 30, 2017 at the MOA Arena. The last time that the pageant was held in the country was in 1994 with Charlene Gonzales ending up in the Top 5.
