HTC Ocean Note leaks: Key specs revealed ahead of January 12 launch?

Rumor mill predicts that the HTC Ocean concept smartphones will be unveiled in first quarter of 2017.

Few weeks ago, HTC had sent an invitation for the event that will take place in the first month of 2017. In the invitation it was mentioned "for U" along with the date Jan. 12. By this it is confirmed that HTC will be unveiling new devices on the said date.

According to Android Headlines, a Taiwanese retailer site known as Eprice has leaked that among the three rumored Ocean concept smartphones, HTC may be announce Ocean Note phablet on Jan. 12, 2017. The latest information reveals that it will be available in three color choice such as White, Black and Blue.

In the month of September this year, it was leaked that, HTC is working on three Ocean concept smartphone variants named as Ocean Master, Ocean Note and Ocean Smart. These concept phones are rumored to be lacking any buttons. Instead of physical buttons, it is speculated to sensors that are embedded on the edges of the metal frame.

However, the leaked images of protective cases for HTC Ocean Note suggests that it will be having physical buttons on the frame. The leaked images have revealed some details on the appearance of the device.

By looking at its design, it can be understood that a power button and a dedicated camera button along with volume controllers are present on the edge of the device.

The rear side of the protective case reveals that it will be having a single rear camera unit with dual LED flash light instead of dual camera that was rumored earlier. According to My Smart Gear, the latest information revealed by Eprice suggests that the Ocean Note phablet will be having an amazing camera with an impressive DxOMark score

The bottom portion of the protective cover has three slots that seems for mic, a USB Type-C port for charger and the third slot is reportedly meant for inserting the stylus as HTC Ocean Note is rumored to come with a stylus. Since it does not feature 3.5 mm headphone jack, it will support earphone connectivity thru its USB Type-C port.

It is not sure whether HTC will be unveiling Ocean Note on Jan. 12 because the company is also pegged to announce the rumored HTC X10 on the said date. HTC is also speculated to unveil its first smartwatch at the upcoming launch event.
