"Supergirl" Season 2 recently introduced Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) as a bisexual woman.
In one of its previous episodes, Alex found out that Maggie (Floriana Lima) had a relationship with other women. During their conversation, Alex realized that she could also be bisexual since she also had feelings for her best friend. Unfortunately, when Alex confessed her true feelings for Maggie, the latter said that she could not reciprocate it. Alex got very emotional over the rejection so she vowed to stay away from Maggie. In the end, Maggie asked Alex to become friends with her and she agreed.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that there is still so much in store for fans when it comes to Alex and Maggie's relationship. Even though they have decided to stay friends, anything can still happen in the back half of "Supergirl" Season 2.
"The important thing is that we are committed to this relationship and we are committed to seeing it grow, change, blossom and struggle, but also gets stronger, deeper, and more loving as we go forward. I do not think people need to worry that suddenly this relationship is going to go by the wayside. It is going to have its ups and downs, but we are committed to Alex and Maggie - we are as committed to Alex and Maggie as the audience is," he said.
Meanwhile, other than Alex and Maggie's budding relationship, "Supergirl" Season 2 will also see the return of Livewire (Brit Morgan) and Metallo (Frederick Schmidt) in at least one episode.
According to TV Line, Metallo aka John Corben was featured in the first two episodes of "Supergirl" Season 2. The villainous character was supposed to kill Lena Luthor, but failed. As a result, the people of Cadmus transformed him into a cyborg. Livewire aka Leslie Willis was first seen in the pilot episode of the hit The CW series. At that time, it was revealed that Livewire used to be one of the employees at CatCo. She later on teamed up with Silver Banshee to take down Supergirl and The Flash.
"Supergirl" Season 2 will return with episodes starting January 2017 on The CW.
