'Game of Thrones' Season 7 release date delayed again? Iain Glen: 7 episodes taking a while to shoot

The cast and crew of 'Game of Thrones' pose for a photograph after the show was named the Best Drama Series at 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Though the number of episodes for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 has been reduced to only seven, production is taking a while to shoot all of it. Fortunately, fans should not worry as the season's release in summer 2017 has not been moved any further.

In his interview with Radio Times, Iain Glen, who plays as Ser Jorah Mormont, revealed the production for the seven-episode season has become more complex and time consuming. He revealed that although these are fewer compared to the past seasons, the set pieces being extraordinary, lengthens the production time.

"They are taking the length of time it takes to shoot ten episodes to shoot just seven this year and six next year," Glen said. "I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created, it's just getting more and more extraordinary and they feel they need that time to shoot seven hours as opposed to ten."

Despite these, there is not any news that the much-awaited comeback season of "Game of Thrones" will be delayed. As announced in late 2016, "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will be gracing fans' screens in summer of 2017.

In terms of plot, Glen revealed fans will be able to feel in the upcoming season the TV drama is about to end. He also disclosed that several characters who were not involved in the past will cross paths this season.

On the other hand, Sophie Turner previously revealed her character, Sansa Stark, may develop a taste for killing in Season 7. In her interview with Vulture, Turner revealed one of the most interesting part of Sansa's change in personality is her smile when she walked away while Ramsay Bolton was being eaten to death by his hounds.

"You wonder if it's just a smile because it's her first kill, because this man is out of her life, or whether she's going to get a taste for it," the 20-year-old actress added. "Whether she enjoyed it. Whether it's a power trip."

Turner's character has been caught up in several situations where she had been treated lowly. As the "Game of Thrones" actress said, it is time for her character to show some power.
