Park Bo Gum has nothing but praise for senior, labelmate Song Joong Ki

Hallyu star Park Bo Gum bagged the Male Top Excellence at the recent 2016 KBS Drama Awards on December 31.

According to Soompi, Park Bo Gum cried as he relay his acceptance speechfor the award. "While I was working on "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," I felt like I was very lacking. But I'm grateful to Song Joong Ki, who gave me advice every time."

The actor also thanked the staff and crew, his co-stars, and his father for the award and recognition he received.

During this time, the camera showed actor Song Joong Ki touched by Park Bo Gum's words and kept wiping his tears. The host Jun Hyun Moo teased the "Descendants Of The Sun" star that he is crying too much.

Song Joong Ki, on the other hand, won the Grand Award along with his co-star Song Hye Kyo for their work in "Descendants Of The Sun" that has become legendary worldwide. Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum are both signed under Blossom Entertainment.

In other news, Hallyu star Park Bo Gum popularity surged that he replaced Nation's MC Yoo Jae Suk as the most searched star online in 2016.

According to The Chosunilbo, big data analysis SK Telecom revealed that 23-year-old actor topped the year's list for the most-searched South Korean entertainer on the Internet. Based on the results, Park Bo Gum's name was searched 792,560 times, which doubles Yoo Jae Suk's result of 377,018.

Park Bo Gum rose to stardom thanks to his hit dramas "Reply 1988" and "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" and also surpassed 31-year-old Song Joong-ki as 2016's most favorite drama actor. Because of his hit dramas, Park Bo Gum gained recognition and popularity overseas. He is making waves in China. Park Bo Gum received a number of awards this year including Most Mentioned from SBS' "Cultwo Show" Awards, Star of the Year from OSEN Awards and Best New Actor from the 5th APAN Star Awards for his performance in tvN's "Reply 1988."
