LG G6 will attempt to dominate the smartphone industry with its relatively non-traditional key features. The upcoming LG Electronics flagship product hopes to compete with leading brands like Samsung, Apple, and the highly anticipated returnee, Nokia.
With the current trend in the smartphone industry, LG's branding would normally come after Samsung and Apple. However, LG G6 hopes to end the trend by introducing its latest improvement and new add-ons this 2017.
With the goal of outselling and outclassing leading brand in the market, G6 has been reported to be changing the traditional back covers of their mobile. From the usual plastic and metallic cover, G6 will be presented with a glass cover, according to the Korean based ET News.
The same publication also added that the glass cover for G6 will not be the usual glass type, for LG would be incorporating a 3D glass cover on the backplane of their next-generation flagship smartphone. The said curved glass to the back plate of the G6 is said to be supplied by the Sixteen Cnetsu company.
Additionally, other specs of the upcoming G6 will likely include Snapdragon 835 SoC or 821 processor, a 6GB of RAM, USB-C. When it comes to the display, LG allegedly chose the commonly adapted screen size, which is the 5.3 to 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 resolution, as mentioned in a separate report.
Apart from the looks and internal setup, it has also been reported that LG will be incorporating wireless charging as one of the key features of the G6. Thus, suggesting a sealed battery to complement the 3D back glass cover according to Pocket Lint.
Lastly, the release date of LG G6 is yet to be announced. Most news would point to the upcoming Mobile World Congress this February 2017 as the potential unveiling moment of the G6. This anticipated event will somehow confirm the rumored September 2017 release date of G6 and its $650- $750 price point.
