No Hope for iOS 10.2 Jailbreak as v. 10.3 Arriving Soon? Luca Todesco JB Tool Remains in Unstable Beta Build

Apple Inc. keeps updating its iOS 11 firmware ahead of its release this summer 2017.

Speculations are rife that Apple will soon seed beta 1 of iOS 10.3, which indicate of upcoming minor feature bumps and security fix. The latter is further testament of the tech giant's resolve to immediately plug the holes identified on its mobile operating system and potentially frustrate efforts for an iOS 10.2 jailbreak.

Picking up on the latest update provided by known Apple insider Sonny Dickson, iDownloadBlog.com reported that iOS 10.3 beta 1 will be seeded to developers January 10. The news somehow indicates that Apple is moving swiftly not only to deliver fresh features for iPhone and iPad users to enjoy but also to keep the platform running the device tightly secured.

This translates to little room for iOS hackers to come up with a crack for a modified version of the operating system. And the quick succession of iOS update arrivals, in beta and final builds, only underscored the fact that Apple is winning on its mission to outrace jailbreak makers.

In fact, the Prometheus tool that was issued recently is said to have been rendered useless when Apple made changes to its TSS server. As a result, jailbreak fans are now unable to downgrade or upgrade their way to the now unsigned iOS 10.1.1. The OS version, as known in the jailbreak community, is the gateway to access Luca Todesco's Yalu JB solution.

So the general jailbreak picture looks bleak at the moment in light of the latest from Todesco that said there is no immediate plan for an iOS 10.2 jailbreak from his end. That means those already on 10.2 will remain in limbo until a working JB tool based on the version is released.

As for the claim made by Stefan Esser aka @i0n1c that an iOS 10.2 jailbreak is likely on the way soon, no update until now so the best guess - it was an empty boast.

The solutions available for now and limited only to those who managed to stick with iOS 10.1.1 are the Pangu iOS 9.2-9.3.3 jailbreak, Todesco's version of the same but minus the expiring certification and the Yalu jailbreak also from Todesco.

But as noted by WCCFTech in a report, Yalu iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak remains in beta and would-be users are warned to anticipate fair amount of instability and issues.

"The Yalu jailbreak is in a beta state, so there is a lot that can go wrong, even forcing you to restore your device to iOS 10.2, given you are stuck in a boot loop or something. But if you are feeling extremely adventurous, then you may go ahead with the jailbreak process," the report said.
