Three refreshed Samsung devices are to be revealed this January at Kuala Lumpur, following revealed pre-order posters of the Galaxy A5 (2017) and A7 (2017) handsets. Although there is still scarce information on the upcoming handsets, Samsung Malaysia's VP implied that the Galaxy A (2017) series will be carrying IP68-certification.

According to Phone Arena, the new Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 handsets will be IP68-certified for dust and water resistance. Samsung reported that the said certification can allow the devices to survive for 30 minutes underwater at depths of up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet).

In a statement issued by Samsung Malaysia's VP of Mobile and IT Business Unit, Lee Jui Siang, the said certification is discussed: "Samsung is focused on continuing to push the frontier of what's possible to deliver innovation that matter. As a leader in the mobile industry, we designed the Samsung Galaxy A Series (2017) that suits the needs of trendy savvy consumers."

"The latest smartphones combine a premium design with a range of flagship benefits which includes IP68-rated dust and water resistant which is the first ever of its range," the VP added.

However, aside from the IP68-certification, all three models will be integrated with NFC, support for Samsung Pay, and the latest security suite which are fingerprint scanners to be embedded in their home buttons.

On another note, a flyer revealed in Malaysia spilled the new Galaxy A handsets pricing. The Galaxy A7 (model number SM-A720) and Galaxy A5 (model number SM-A520) are pegged at about $424 and $378, respectively. The smaller and less powerful Galaxy A3 (model number SM-A320) is estimated at a price of around $300.

According to Gizmoids, the Galaxy A7 (2017) will feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels), alongside an octa-core Exynos 7880 processor. Carrying a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (expandable via a microSD card), the Galaxy A7 also boasts a 16MP lens rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture.

Specs-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will carry a smaller screen at 5.2-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display (1080×1920 pixel). In its internal chassis, it is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 processor, supported with 2GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The Galaxy A5 could sport a 16MP lens in both front and back cameras.

The smallest screen size on the Samsung A series will be sported by the A3 (2017), which is a 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display (720×1280 pixel). Inside, it runs an octa-core 1.5 GHz Exynos 7870 processor, with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.
