After Samsung's reported release of the Android 7.0 Nougat firmware on Samsung S7 and S7 Edge models, tagged as 'Galaxy Beta Program,' the company did not wait for long to bring the latest OS update on its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge units.
The South Korean company is working on Android Nougat-based firmware bearing build number: XXS5DPK7 for the 2015-based Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The update includes fixing bugs, slight or major improvements for performance and software or bringing newer Operating System versions to particular devices.
Although the development have been started, it is highly unlikely that the smartphones would get the update any time before next year. Since the Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to acquire the latest firmware early next year, it is rumored that the S6 models will likely follow, according to SamMobile.
Earlier, The Galaxy Beta program, which started on Nov. 9 and shall continue until mid-December, allows selected Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge models beta users the ability to send feedback and suggestions directly to Samsung.

Additional specs include new Grace UX contained in the discontinued Galaxy Note 7, multi-window, direct reply notifications, Extra power efficiency, Google Assistant, VR interface, Seamless updates, Data saver, Improved file browser, Instant Apps, bundled notifications, and improved Java 8 language support.
