The Xiaomi Mi Mix smartphone has one of the largest screens in the market.

Xiaomi has just unveiled the Xiaomi Mi Mix at CES 2017 event in Las Vegas. But this might not change anything for high-hoped Americans. Apparently, the Chinese tech giant might not bring the phone to North American markets.

In an interview with CNET, Xiaomi's global Vice President Hugo Barra said that the company does not have comprehensive plans of joining the United States markets. He also dispelled previous suggestions that had implied that the firm would start selling its Mi Mix in the U.S. starting this year.

"Eventually we'll make our way over here," he told the publication. This follows previous reports which pointed out that Xiaomi has been making strides towards launching its products in the U.S. market.

Xiaomi's value-for-money phones are something that many prospective U.S. customers are eyeing and looking forward to. But why is the company still delaying? According to Android Central, the whole deferment is linked to more than just the profits.

Reportedly, Xiaomi is in the process of establishing an after-sales network from scratch. The company has to survey its playing field and create an effective sales strategy so that it does not encounter hiccups after entry into the market.

For example, given that the company primarily uses its online store to sell its phones, it is impossible to take a phone bought through this means to carriers for servicing. This and other dynamics are vital to creating an efficient marketing and sales system.

Notably, Xiaomi already sells power banks and fitness trackers in the U.S. via its e-commerce store and other brand-signed patent deals with companies like Qualcomm and Microsoft. It has also expressed its desire to join the U.S. market before.

So, even if Americans might not get to see or use the  razor-thin Xiaomi Mi Mix, there is hope that the Chinese Tech giant might join the market in future with even more technologically advanced gadgets. Here is a first look of the Mi Mix:
