While there had been no official release date yet for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild," some sources are suggesting the upcoming video game will be launched in March alongside the Nintendo Switch. This was after reports circulated that Nintendo had a change of heart in the release date of the said game.
The speculated release date is applicable to at least in Japan and North America, Eurogamer reported. Sources close to Nintendo claimed that during the end of 2016, the game was already complete in terms of content but is still around four to six months away from launching. This implies that "Breath of Wild" will be missing the Nintendo Switch release.
But recently, things started to change when Nintendo reportedly planned to release their newest console simultaneously with "Breath of Wild." According to the same publication, the game still needs to undergo an extensive process of quality assurance and testing. In addition, the upcoming "Legend of Zelda" installment is vast and big in size in terms of scope.
But Nintendo Japan realized Switch needs to have a strong launch line-up which would include "Breath of Wild." With this, the video game will be launching in March in North America and Japan. For its Europe release, launching is still undecided.
The report noted that Nintendo Europe still needs to do a lot of language translation that it will surely be left behind with other countries' release. Another source also told the publication that Nintendo Japan has always wanted the "Legend of Zelda" installment to launch in March.
As of the moment, Nintedo did not release any official statement regarding the rumors. It is expected the entertainment company will be releasing a statement on Jan. 12, Thursday, Shack News reported. It will broadcast a Switch-themed stream that will discuss specific details about the Nintendo Switch.
In addition, Nintendo Treehouse employees will also broadcast a stream to provide details about the upcoming games for the switch. The broadcast is scheduled for release on Jan. 13, Friday.
