With the 20th Anniversary of the "Diablo" franchise, The Darkening of Tristram event is now live in the "Diablo 3" game. With this, here are the steps in order to unlock the Butcher pet from the 16-floor retro dungeon.
According to Game Rant, aside from getting the cleaver-wielding boss from the original "Diablo" game, the 16-floor dungeon in the event has items and monsters reminiscent of the first game. The first requirement to unlock the Butcher is to make a fresh character for the dungeon run.
Normally, it would be pretty problematic for new players, but thankfully the Butcher can be obtained from the dungeon at any difficulty level. Additionally, the dungeon itself is not too difficult, and the more experienced players will not have any problems blazing through it.
However, there are some things to take note of if the players want to unlock the Butcher pet. First and foremost, the player must have the "Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls" expansion downloaded to their platform. Second, they must complete the dungeon before turning off their game.
Thankfully, leaving the dungeon to return to town for replenishing supplies and selling off unnecessary loot is permissible. While most players think that not being able to exit the game is frustrating, it is worth noting that the dungeon can be finished within an hour for most players.
Another thing worth noting is that players should not gain any XP outside of the new dungeon, and as such it is expected for them to go into the limited-time event dungeon. Otherwise, they will not be able to unlock the Butcher pet and start over with another character.
According to PC Gamer, the dungeon is a good way to start off with a new character. After all, the high amount of enemies can let players sustain long kill-chains and give huge amounts of EXP, meaning that a character can level two or three times per dungeon floor.
"Diablo 3" is now available for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Here is the video on how to get the Butcher pet.
