"Man of Steel 2" might take some time before it hits theaters but the movie is definitely a go. The sequel to the 2013 hit is reportedly being developed over at Warner Bros., and there are already rumblings about which characters are going to take part in the film.
Henry Cavill's manager, Dany Garcia of Garcia Industries, spilled the beans on the developments for "Man of Steel 2." In an interview with Newsweek, Garcia revealed that while Cavill was filming "Justice League," he was also involved in planning the next standalone Superman movie.
"We've been in a five-month period of time where he's re-strategizing, acquiring property [for his production company Promethean], he's filming ['Justice League'] now, he's in development for the Superman standalone... he's beginning to expand that world," Garcia mentioned.
With "Man of Steel 2" reportedly being a top priority for Warner Bros., there are already theories about the characters that are going to make their DC Extended Universe debut. According to Movie Web, the popular choices include Brainiac, Bizarro and Superman's cousin Supergirl. With that said, here is a list of actresses that could play Kara Danvers on the big screen.
Lyndsy Fonseca
The "Nikita" star is a popular choice among DC Comics fans. In The CW series, she showed great finesse in doing fight scenes as Alexandra Udinov, Maggie Q's onscreen sidekick.
Peyton List
List is no stranger to the "Superman" fandom as she previously starred as Lois Lane's sister, Lucy, in The CW "Smallville." Her latest role was on "The Tomorrow People" where she played mind reader Cara Coburn. Given the characters she previously portrayed, its evident List knows what it takes to be a superhero.
Ashley Hinshaw
This "True Blood" alum is also no stranger to playing characters with superpowers. She previously played Power Girl in Max Landis' 2011 short film "The Death and Return of Superman."
Yvonne Strahovski
Strahovski definitely kick butt as Sarah Walker in "Chuck." She is no stranger to roles that require a lot of action sequences. The statuesque blonde also looks perfect for the part.
Leven Rambin
Rambin appeared on "The Hunger Games" as Glimmer, one of the Career tributes in the annual death match. She was also Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares, in "Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters." Clearly, she has a lot of experience playing a headstrong and tough girl, qualities which Supergirl possesses.
