Kenny Omega is the talk of the wrestling industry at the moment after his amazing match with Kazuchika Okada at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 11. He is now linked with a move to the WWE after announcing that he will be stepping away from Japan to think about his future.
Omega made the announcement on Twitter and he confirmed that he is looking at all of his options. NJPW has not made any official announcement but many believe that he could either sign a new deal or join WWE.
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (subscription required), NJPW tends to re-sign their superstars every new year. There are reports stating the Omega is just playing the fans but he is not advertised for NJPW's Triplemania event.
This might mean that "The Cleaner" is really without a contract and he is weighing all of his options. If he leaves NJPW, there is no other promotion for him to work on but WWE. And if he signs with Vince McMahon's company, will he go straight to the main roster or down in NXT?
And to make everything more exciting, John Cena joined the fray when he posted an image of Omega on his Instagram account. Cena's Instagram is one of the wackiest accounts since he trolls fans most of the time.
However, it should be noted that Cena posted an image of A.J. Styles at this same last year. Styles ended up making his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble and having one of the best rookie years in the WWE. But nevertheless, Cena could be jus trolling the fans on the internet.
Omega making his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble is a very big moment. He is one of the best wrestlers not signed in the WWE and he might have the same success as Styles. However, nothing has been confirmed at this moment so fans just have to wait for Omega's official announcement.
The 33-year-old Canadian wrestler was part of the WWE roster from 2005 to 2006 at Deep South Wrestling, per Sportskeeda. He immediately requested his release from the company because of trainers like Bill DeMott, Jody Hamilton and Hardcore Holly.
Omega spent his time honing his skills in many different wrestling promotions all over the world like NJPW, DDT and Pro Wrestling Guerilla. He is also a member of the Bullet Club and he was the stable's fourth leader following Finn Balor, Karl Anderson and A.J. Styles.
