‘Legion’ trailer released by FX hints of a different brand of superheroes

"Legion" will focus on mutant David Haller, portrayed by “Downton Abbey” star Dan Stevens.

FX and Marvel dropped a new "Legion" trailer that had people scratching their heads. By the looks of the newly released trailer, the upcoming superhero show promises to be very interesting and original indeed.

The new "Legion" trailer hints that the series may not be of the mold of the usual superhero shows hugging the airwaves lately. In the teaser, Dan Haller, portrayed actor Dan Stevens and Syd Barret, played by Rachek Keller are shown wearing similar outfits. Walking down what appears to be a curved hallway from the opposite sides eventually meeting in the middle.

The pair stopped in front of a window, where either a rising or a setting sun is seen. Dan and Syd then touched hands forming a heart and some kind of explosive reaction occurs. The accompanying message simply says, "One touch can change everything."

It is hard to pin down what the "Legion" trailer actually means. One way to interpret the new "Legion" trailer is that it is that whatever future romance the couple could have is bound to be pretty unusual and probably explosive in more ways than one. Apparently, Dan is the most powerful telepath mutant whose power is misdiagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia, Cosmic Book News reported.

On the other hand, Syd is said to be somebody that cannot be touched, for still unexplained reasons. And when the two does connect, it could spark a reality altering chain reaction, as suggested by previously released "Legion" trailers which may also be viewed at the end of this article.

"Legion" is a collaboration between Fox and Marvel and is said to be set inside X-Men's universe and Dan is actually Professor X's son, at least in the comics version, according to Cinema Blend reported. There is a possibility that some of the well-loved X-Men characters may make their appearance in the brand new series.

The "Legion" pilot premiere date is already slated on Feb. 8 on FX. Meanwhile, enjoy the previous "Legion" trailer below:
