The Ritz-Carlton hosts major events.

The Ritz-Carlton opened its first golf course in China and is the first luxury golf resort in Mission Hills Haikou, an upscale entertainment complex.

Interiors and resort amenities are similar to a traditional gold resort as well as inclusive of the high level of comfort that is unique to the Ritz-Carlton experience.

According to Christopher W. Sommers, the general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Haikou, "It is truly an honor to be opening the first Ritz-Carlton golf resort in China. Our ladies and gentlemen are extremely excited to open our doors and pair the world-class experience of The Ritz-Carlton with the world-class golf of Mission Hills."

Another Ritz-Carlton golf resort is set to be opened this year in Nanyan Bay. The hotel's website announced that the second resort will exceed expectations from the first resort in Haikou.

The hotel stated, "The Ritz-Carlton, Nanyan Bay is scheduled to open in 2017 offering 244 generous guestrooms and suites in addition to 14 private villas."

Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer for The Ritz-Carlton, said, "Nanyan Bay will be a sensational new resort destination for The Ritz-Carlton in the much heard about but relatively under-explored 'Hawaii of the East'."

"We are pleased to be working with our partners, Hainan Golden Tide Tourism Development, to create a new international oceanfront resort for sophisticated travelers looking to explore the unexplored," he added.

The hotel marks the latest development in the area noting that "the Hainan government has highlighted Wanning as a new tourism hub by completing infrastructure projects such as a new nearby airport, a high-speed railway and new roads to improve accessibility."

The Ritz-Carlton in Nanyang is the latest addition to the 90 hotels and resorts around the world.
