WrestleMania 33 is right around the corner as the WWE scrambles to finalize plans for the events. One of the rumored matches for WrestleMania 33 is a showdown between The Undertaker and Braun Strowman.
When The Undertaker returned on Monday Night Raw, he announced that he is entering the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. The WWE teased the idea of The Undertaker vs. Strowman when the former Wyatt Family member was shown watching "The Deadman."
According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer (subscription required), the WWE keenly placed Strowman in The Undertaker segment. Meltzer pointed out that the WWE has changed its plans for both stars.
It should be noted that The Undertaker was linked with a match against John Cena. On the other hand, Strowman was being built as a monster for Roman Reigns to conquer. However, those plans are reportedly out of the window at the moment.
The Undertaker vs. Strowman was one of the original plans for WrestleMania 32, per Sportskeeda. The WWE intended to make it happen last year when Cena went down with an injury. However, the WWE went with Shane McMahon because Strowman was nowhere near ready for a big match like that.
But now, Strowman is one of the most improved wrestlers and he had a pair of good matches against Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins in the past couple of weeks. Of course, the monster of a man cannot carry match by himself but he certainly can hang with some of the best in the world.
There have been reports that The Undertaker might retire at WrestleMania 33. Strowman retiring "The Deadman" will catapult him into superstardom and cement himself as the next monster of the WWE. However, these are still purely speculative at the moment and nothing has been finalized.
According to Cageside Seats, The Undertaker vs. Strowman at WrestleMania 33 might actually work. The feud is easy to start since they cross paths at the Royal Rumble and the story begins there. Strowman beating The Undertaker has a much bigger impact than Brock Lesnar's victory three years ago.
Nevertheless, the WWE can always change their plans since Vince McMahon can't seem to make up his mind around this time of the year. For more WWE news, rumors and updates, just follow me on Twitter @johnnyrundown.
