The Galaxy J3 is an android smartphone released by Samsung in 2016.

Samsung's Galaxy J3 2017 model is now one step closer to being released. The Android smartphone just got its Wi-Fi certification and was revealed that it will be running the 7.0 Nougat version.

It has been a good week for Samsung fans as several of their new and upcoming smartphones have been leaked or teased. The Galaxy J3 2017 model follows the leaked images of the Galaxy C5 Pro, Galaxy C7 Pro and the Galaxy C9 Pro.

Samsung now has the Wi-Fi certification for their Galaxy J3 2017 which also reveals that the device will have switchable bands between 2.4GHz and 5GHz, GSM Arena has learned. The product and model number on the Wi-Fi certification was SM-J327VL and the firmware version is SE32VL000.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 is an upgrade over the 2016 version. Galaxy J3 2017 specs include 5-inch 720p AMOLED display and 16GB internal storage. It will be powered using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset and 2GB RAM which is fine considering that it is marketed in the low-end smartphone industry.

Samsung's Galaxy J3 2017 will also be improved as it will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, Android Headlines reported. The new version includes several improvements and fixes such as the Doze battery life saver and the multi-window capabilities for apps.

T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon Wireless and AT&T are supposed to carry the new smartphone for their customers but the expected release date already passed and the device is nowhere to be found. With the new Wi-Fi certification news, it could just be a matter of time before the smartphone appears on their available plans.

Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 could be released at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 if it is not rolled out by that time. The low-end budget smartphone is just one of the South Korean tech giant's many choices.
