Android 7.0 Nougat has officially rolled out but this doesn't mean it will be available at the same time for all Android phones that can support it. As it was with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the release of Android 7 on a particular phone depends on its manufacturers.
Google smartphones such as the Pixel C and Nexus 6 are always the first devices to get new Android support and the case is true now, Yahoo reported. As of the time being, Nougat has already launched for the Pixel C, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and the Android version of the Genera Mobile 4G.
Verizon's Pixel and Pixel XL, which are also high-end Google smartphones, have also received Android 7.0 Nougat as well as an Android build labeled NMF260. This update will address several security concerns and errors.
One Plus devices are getting a new beta build but the final version of Android 7.0 is reportedly launching soon as well. Devices that will get Android 7.0 support include the One Plus 3, One Plus 3T, One Plus X, One Plus 2 and the One Plus 1.
In regards to the Samsung phone lineup, the Note 7 will not be getting any updates and owners are advised to return it in order to get a refund. This is due to the recall Samsung has issued for the Note 7, caused by its defective batteries.
Other Samsung phones getting the update, although no date has yet been specified, are the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S7 Active, J3, A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 and the A9 Pro.
The LG G5, V10, G4 and the V20 will also be receiving the Android update. The LG V20 will also be the first phone that will release with Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed into it.
HTC and ZTE phones have a limited number of smartphones that will update to Android 7.0 Nougat. According to Tech Radar, the update is rolling out for the HTC One and HTC One M9 and the ZTE Axon 7. The update is already available for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force and the Moto X lineup will be receiving it soon.
