Waiting for Rumored iOS Jailbreak Release? Stay Away from Cydia Substrate Patches and Validate .SHSH2 Blobs Now – Here’s Why

Apple Inc. keeps updating its iOS 11 firmware ahead of its release this summer 2017.

Rumors persist that the current Yalu iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak will soon be upgraded to a cracked version of 10.2. Or if not, hope remains that Team Pangu will pull a surprise and improve the JB tool that Luca Todesco has provided. Either way, both possibilities prompted many iPhone and iPad users to wait out for the next jailbreak release.

But while waiting, jailbreak fans can actually make sure that they'd be ready when the solution comes out, no matter who the source will be. If indeed an iOS 10.2 jailbreak will soon touchdown (the speculations generated mostly by Todesco's recent assurance that he is working on the tool) then it is wise to know on the things to do prior to the jailbreak release.

One piece of advice is to save one's .SHSH2 blobs and in doing so will serve as the ticket for "an iOS device to be rolled back to an earlier version of iOS that isn't currently being signed by Apple," according to Redmond Pie. What's next is then a better chance of getting the next jailbreak as the ability to upgrade or downgrade to an unsigned iOS firmware eliminates the likelihood of being locked out.

This will apply in the event that the iOS 10.2 jailbreak is released after Apple has issued version 10.3 and stopped signing the previous iOS build.

But for tactic to become a rock-solid insurance that the next jailbreak release will be there for the taking no matter the iOS version one has on his/her iPhone or iPad, it's equally important that .SHSH2 blobs are verified. Doing so will ensure that the same elements will indeed open the door for the jailbreaking once the solution becomes available.

Thankfully, the same Redmond Pie report provided a quick and easy guide on checking the validity of .SHSH2 blobs.

And with that concern set aside, iDownloadBlog.com said that it's important too not to toy around with Cydia Substrate patches. The same report warned that such patches will likely mess with the codes of the Yalu jailbreak by Todesco and when that happens there will be huge problems once version 10.2 of the same JB tool is ready to install.

Huge problems will mean the inability to jump to the next jailbreak. Yes, these patches can potentially break not only an existing jailbreak but a future release, or for that matter the iOS 10.2 jailbreak release that Todesco confirmed will definitely happen soon.

So for the sake of enjoying the next jailbreak, it is best exercise restraint as one patiently prays that Yalu iOS 10.2 will arrive sooner than later.
