2015’s surprise box office hit “Kingsman: The Secret Service” is back for a sequel, and lead star Taron Egerton revealed the scoop on what’s to come in the upcoming film.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" promises to be bloody explosive, with a stellar cast adding to the mix. The first film, "Kingsman: The Secret Service," was a surprise box office earner and critical darling that launched breakout actor Taron Egerton into a huge star. For the sequel, the suave spies head state-side to face villains bigger than Samuel L. Jackson's Valentine.

"Kingsman 2" plot

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will introduce the US counterpart of Kingsman, the Statesman. While the Kingsman HQ disguises itself as a tailor for bespoke men's suit, the Statesman HQ is disguised as a whisky distillery. Egerton tells Collider that Statesman is richer than Kingsman, and have got a lot of "cool shit."

Moreover, Egerton teases that the sequel will be bigger and ambitious, and is "not for the faint of heart." The world of espionage will be explored even further.

"Kingsman 2" cast and characters

Egerton reprises his role as Eggsy. Colin Firth is also returning as Harry Hart, Eggsy's mentor and friend. Harry was shot in the head by Jackson's Richmond Valentine in the first movie. It will come as a surprise to viewers how Firth managed to survive, but Matthew Vaughn promises that it will be nothing far-fetched. Mark Strong is also confirmed to return as Merlin.

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" beefs up its cast by adding a solid list of new members, from Julianne Moore to "Game of Thrones" star Pedro Pascal.

Halle Berry is also on board as Ginger, the leader of the Statesmen, Independent reported. While Julianne Moore is playing the villain Poppy, British actor Vinnie Jones has been enlisted as Poppy's lieutenant and right-hand man.

Channing Tatum's role remains under wraps, but it is presumed that he will be playing an agent under the Statesman. Much like Tatum's participation, little is known about Jeff Bridge's role in the spy flick. However, given the "Kingsman" poster Bridges posted on Twitter, it is speculated that he is also associated with the Statesman - perhaps at a similar extent as Michael Caine's character was to Kingsman.

"Kingsman 2" release date

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" will hit theaters on Sept. 29.
