Todd Howard is Bethesda's game director for "Skyrim."

Fans are pretty much expectant prior to the Nintendo Switch's launch that Bethesda Game Studios' five-year-old classic "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," will be landing on the newly announced console. The game developer even commended Nintendo's new console for their innovative handheld.

The unveiling was done at the console's event alongside other upcoming games for the Switch. A video message was shown among the attendees as it featured Bethesda's game designer and director, Todd Howard. The director expressed his excitement that their company and Nintendo can now work together and added that Switch signifies the classic Nintendo mixed with new elements.

What Bethesda wanted is to make games where players can "get lost in" and make it their own to the point that they are so hooked into it, Game Spot quoted Howard as saying. Since Switch is an ultraportable console, fans can now play with Skyrim wherever they please, he also said.

What is yet to be known though is as to whether the Switch version of "Skyrim" will be the same to the title's remastered version or otherwise. It can be remembered that "Skyrim Remastered" was released in fall of 2016 that boasted graphical improvements in comparison to its 2011 render, Polygon reported.

Meanwhile, both Bethesda and Nintendo has yet to make an official statement on when the game will be out. Nonetheless, the latter already revealed that the new console will be hitting the shelves on March 3 and will be offered at $300.

For the uninitiated, the game is an open-world action adventure RPG that aims to thwart Alduin the World Eater which is a dragon that is prophesied to destroy the entire world. The original game went out in November 2011 and has received numerous game of the year awards ever since.
