Maisie Williams attends the Louis Vuitton UNICEF #MakeAPromise Day event at the Louis Vuitton New Bond Street store on January 12, 2017 in London, England.

"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams will be starring in an upcoming superhero film about an unwitting teenager who gets bits of smartphone embedded in his brain. In "iBoy," Williams will play the best friend and love interest of Tom, played by Bill Milner, the lead character who will gain superpowers following a radioactive spider bite.

According to The Independent, Tom will find himself capable of visualizing all kinds of data, including emails, texts and phone calls, after fragments of his smartphone got embedded in his brain. On the other hand, Lucy, Williams' character, will find herself implicated in the whole thing following an attack made to her by a mysterious gang.

Netflix has just unveiled the first trailer for the film, which is based on Kevin Brook's novel "iBoy" and stars Miranda Richardson and "Penny Dreadful" star Rory Kinnear. The trailer shows Williams dressed in modern-day clothing and talking with a modern-day accent. It also sees the 16-year-old Tom attempt to win Lucy's affection after school.

In one of the scenes, Tom visits Lucy's home and is confronted by a gang of teenagers who shoot him after he attempted to escape. Apparently, Tom survives the attack despite the shot in his head. However, he ends up discovering his superpowers after fragments of his smartphone got implanted in his brain.

In the clip, Tom appears to see and hear all internet and phone calls and have x-ray vision, helping him protect himself from the gang bullying him. Another tense scene also sees Lucy and Tom tied up in a warehouse, seemingly trapped by their vicious pursuers. Luckily, they seem to manage to hit back, with one scene showing Lucy holding them at gunpoint and saying, "You're f*****up now."

Towards the end of the video, Tom's superhero spree shows action-packed scenes as he catches the gang that tried to shoot him inside his own car. However, several members of the gang manage to corner him, leaving the vigilante seemingly powerless.

Based on the official synopsis for the film posted on Digital Spy, Tom's mission is to seek revenge on the gang who also assailed his best friend Lucy. "iBoy" premieres globally on Netflix on Jan. 27.
