Angelababy and Baby Boy

Besides having to take care of pangolins as newly appointed spokesperson of WildAid, Chinese actress Angelababy now has a baby boy to care and raise. She gave birth on Tuesday morning in Hong Kong.

The boy’s name is Xiaohaimian, which means “Little Sponge.” Huang Xiaoming, 39, the husband of Angelababy, was with the 27-year-old actress when she gave birth. The boy is her first baby, CRIEnglish reported.

Studio Announcement

Huang Xiaoming Studio, owned by the new father, announced their son’s birth on Weibo. The announcement reads: “"We want to share with you a happy moment: This morning, Angelababy gave birth to a son naturally, accompanied by Huang Xiaoming and family. The AH couple have a beautiful continuation of love. Henceforth, they are 1 + 1 = 3, which is probably what happiness looks like.”

Straits Times reported that Angelababy, or Yang Ying in real life, checked in the hospital on Monday after the couple and their parents arrived in Hong Kong. Since Angelababy was initially scheduled to give birth by caesarian, the couple wanted the procedure done during Chinese New Year, but she went into labor earlier than the expected delivery date.

Fist Bump

The father posted on Weibo a photo of Angelababy and Xiaohaimian’s fists in a fist bump. He wrote that the mother and child are safe and sound and captioned the photo: “Aww… The baby already knows how to fist bump!”

The couple dated for six years before they got married in May 2015. Angelababy is part of the historical romance series “General and I.” However, it is not affected by her pregnancy or childbirth because the series was pre-produced and filming ended in September 2016, Drama Fever reported.

“General and I” is currently showing in China and Drama Fever which posts two new episode every weekday.
