Most female celebrities, if they are married or have partners, proudly announce their pregnancy like what South Korean singer Baek Ji Young did when she cancelled on Oct. 13 the rest of her concert tour because she is expecting a baby.
Actress, sing, TV host and the eldest member of the Taiwanese girl group S.H.E. Ella Chen joined the group of celebrities having babies.
China Entertainment New previously reported that the 35-year-old celebrity was the subject of speculations because of hints she gave, even if she had not confirmed anything yet then, of her condition. First hint was her wearing sneakers and loose clothing when she went on a trip to Italy with husband, Alvin Lai.
Second hint was she suddenly pulled out of negotiations with an alcoholic beverage company to be its brand ambassadress which is something a woman expecting a baby would do. When HIM International Music was asked, it said Chen has not advised them of her condition, but she continues to keep her day-to-day schedules.
However, on Monday, Chen confirmed she is pregnant. She posted on her media accounts her and Lai’s photo holding a pregnancy test stick. She said, “Being the person who can't hide anything like me, I really had a miserable time holding it back. But now I want to tell you all loudly: I am pregnant," Yahoo Sports quoted.
Chen said she is on the third month of her pregnancy and would confirm her baby’s gender when she launches her single next week. She married Lai in 2012.
