Xiaomi Android 7.0 Nougat MIUI 9 update

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that Android 7.0 Nougat update would be coming to Xiaomi Mi 4c, 4s, Mi Note, Mi Note 2, Mi 5s Plus and Mi Max. The Mi Mix and Mi 5 are also expected to get the update soon.

The official forum site of Xiaomi has revealed that the Android 7.0 Nougat would be coming soon to the aforementioned devices. Previous rumors have revealed that Xiaomi may release MIUI 9 software with Nougat update. However, there is no official confirmation on it.

In November 2016, Xiaomi began the release of Android 7.0 Nougat MIUI 8 beta update in November 2016, Android Authority reported. Hence, the Xiaomi MI 5 is expected to be the first Xiaomi smartphone to get the update.

The Nougat beta update is also expected to hit the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept smartphone that features a bezel-less design. There is no confirmation on when the update will be available, but it is expected to get announced soon, according to MIUI forums.

A freshly leaked information has revealed that the Xiaomi MI 4c has been spotted on GeekBench with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. However, the exact version of MIUI is not known. However, it indicates that the Chinese manufacturer is testing Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is likely to release it soon to its devices.

The Xiaomi Mi 4c was launched with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS onboard in September 2015. The Mi 4c is also one of the confirmed devices to get Android 7.0 Nougat MUI 8 update. The other devices that are said to be officially confirmed to get the Nougat MIUI 8 update are Mi Note 2, Mi Note, Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi Max, Mi 5 and Mi 5s Plus.

In October 2016, a rumor had surfaced that Android 7.0 Nougat MIUI 9 update was in works for numerous Xiaomi devices such as Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3A, Redmi Pro, Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Note Pro, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus and Mi Pad. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on whether Xiaomi will release MIUI 9 based Nougat update. The Nougat beta update is likely to be based on MIUI 8.
