Until this time, fans of "The Vampire Diaries" are wishing to see Nina Dobrev, who played Elena Gilbert, returning in the Season 8 finale. Last week's episode "We Have History Together" already teased some parts of Elena's past as it was the line she said when she met Stefan (Paul Wesley) for the first time.
Until this time, no confirmation yet has been reported whether Elena will come back for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale. In a recent interview, Dobrev addressed Elena's rumored return in the hit supernatural show.
"I haven't ever told secrets in the past and I'm definitely not going to start now," Dobrev told The Huffington Post. "Sorry guys, I'm not allowed to talk about that."
Since Dobrev's exit from the show in Season 6, rumors about her possible return has started. Although fans are not getting any clear indication of Elena's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale, they can only hold on to what Dobrev promised to executive producer Julie Plec.
In May 2015, Plec told Entertainment Weekly that Dobrev made an assurance that she would be willing to return for the series finale. She added that Dobrev wants to see her character back on the small screen at the end of the show.
Meanwhile, there are speculations that wedding bells could be ringing in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale. It was earlier rumored that Stefan and Caroline (Candice King) may be tying the knot before the series wraps up. However, Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie, teased a photo of her wearing what seems to be a wedding dress on her latest Instagram post.
The shadowy photo suggests scarce details, but it shows Graham, leaning on a piano that was taken behind the scenes of the Season 8 finale. The photo quickly spread speculations that a possible wedding between Bonnie and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) could happen in the end of the series since the two have have taken their relationship into the next level when they went to Paris together.
The upcoming episodes are becoming more exciting as the "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 finale unfolds. Episode 9 titled "The Simple Intimacy of the Near Touch" returns on Jan. 20, Friday. Watch the next episode's trailer below:
