7k7k.com, a Beijing-based online game company, hopes to learn more about the Israeli market in order for preparation of possible business opportunities. It is one of among many Chinese companies that have shown their interest for the Middle Eastern country.
The company attended "Why Israel", a conference held by the Great Wall Club wherein experts and industry insiders shared their insights regarding the work experience in Israel.
Shengjing FOF, a Chinese fund investing globally, teamed up with various Chinese tech giants in investing to Jerusalem Venture Partners and Viola, Israeli's venture capital and private equity fund.
Wang Xiangyun, the managing partner of Shengjing FOF, believed that the entrepreneurial and innovative climate in Israel comes second to the Silicon Valley of the United States. She said: "The premier investment environment featuring openness to foreign capital, sound legal system, and excellent exit channels makes Israel a good place to invest."
According to the Economic Observer, the total amount of Chinese investment in Israeli startup companies is expected to reach $500 million and Chinese investment in Israeli VC funds is expected to rise 18 percent to $1 billion in 2016.
"Israel gives top priority to education, scientific research and innovation," said Han Jan, the deputy chief appraiser of the National Center for Science and Technology Evaluation and former technology counselor of the Chinese embassy in Israel.
Over many years of working in Israel, Han found out that the Jewish people are efficient, diligent, frugal and down-to-earth. Chinese companies will be able to take this into account while communicating with them with regard to business prospects.
Li Xiaoyuan, the deputy general manager of the Israel Chamber of Commerce in China, said: "Israelis seek business opportunities via financial advisors, business events, hangout places for entrepreneurs, start-up communities, referral from other entrepreneurs, among others."
The chamber currently has 120 members, 70 percent of which are Israeli companies.
The Global Mobile Internet Conference will be held on Tel Aviv on March 22 this year. This will be a great opportunity for the communication between Chinese and Israeli tech companies. It is managed by the Great Wall Club, which has been committed to building a platform for global innovators since its founding in 2008.
