Malia Obama in conversation with Barack Obama

This is indeed a great news for all Obama fans as former President of United States Barack Obama's 18-year-old daughter is all set to take her first steps into Hollywood, Malia is reportedly set to intern for prolific film producer Harvey Weinstein beginning in February.

It seems that Obama's gap year is going to be really fruitful. The news came after the Obamas left the White House as Barack Obama's tenure as the 44th President of United States comes to an end. Malia's internship begins the next month, according to Hollywood Reporter.

She graduated from Sidwell Friends last May but will not be attending the Harvard University until fall, she will first be completing her internship for the Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein at the New York office. It is also believed that she might join the company's marketing or development department.

Weinstein has remained a long time friend to the Obama administration. At times, he has hosted star-studded fundraisers at his Westport, Connecticut, home and has donated regularly to liberal causes including Obama's campaign. "I think he's got deep personal beliefs, I don't have to agree with everything a candidate does to support him," Weinstein once revealed as per The Huffington Post in 2012.

After the departure from White House, Obamas will be spending their vacations at the Palm Springs for a few days. During an interview with People's magazine, Michelle Obama hinted about her daughter's inclination for films and that she aspires to get into Hollywood. Since then the now 18-year-old has been working towards her passions.

She first interned in HBO series "Girls" in 2015 and also worked as a production assistant on the now defunct CBS sci-fi series "Extant," starring Halle Berry, the year before. Not just this Malia has always been ahead when her career choices are concerned. Before completing her graduation she also did an internship at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and at a fashion house as per sources.

Obamas received a heartfelt farewell after Donald Trump sworn in as the 45th President of US. The family will stay in Washington next year.
