Woody Harrelson is also famous in his portrayal as Mickey Knox in the 1994 film "Natural Born Killers."

Previous rumors indeed fit in the bag that "Hunger Games" and "Now You See Me" star Woody Harrelson will be playing the part of Garris Shrike in the "Han Solo" standalone film. This development is a clear indication that the story of the renowned space con man is really pushing through.

Speculation about the actor's participation in the said film was reported by Variety last Jan. 3. In an interview hosted by the publication, Harrelson was asked if such rumors were indeed true. The award-winning actor then replied in a brief yet positive note confirming such speculations.

For those who are not yet in the know, Garris served as a father figure to the then young Han. A bounty hunter by profession, the character got payouts way lesser than it should as his targets end up dead most of the time due to being a hot head.

Garris was first featured in the Han Solo book, "The Paradise Snare" that was written by A.C. Crispin. The story showcases Garris and Han's exploits a decade before the events in "A New Hope." It is not yet sure though if the film will be partly based on the said novel as the movie's story plot is quite difficult to come by as of the moment.

Aside from Garris and Han's (Alden Ehrenreich), the movie spinoff is said to feature Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) and a female wookie that will be assumed by actress Emilia Clarke. There are also talks going on that the staff-wielding Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), could be part of the said project, though this has to be taken with a pinch of salt, MovieWeb reported.

The film will be both helmed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord and has an initial release date of May 25, 2018. In the meantime, watch a trailer of Harrelson's latest film dubbed "Wilson:"
