"Wolverine" fans are given yet another treat as the final trailer for the upcoming "Logan" featurette has been released. More information about the film has become more vivid as it featured both Logan (Hugh Jackman) and his female clone X-23 (Dafne Keen) slicing enemies like butter.
Logan himself was seen in awe in the video as her young apprentice unsheathe a pair of claws on one hand right before springing into action in a Wolverine-like manner. Fans are now musing as to whether the film will be like a rite of passage for X-23 and carry on what Logan will be leaving.
Fandango spoke with "Logan" director James Mangold and talked about such speculations. The director pointed out that it is expected from fans to ask/wonder for a film sequel, especially if it featured a deluge of interesting characters. Nevertheless, he further explained that he is not focusing on that thought and even mentioned the studio is unfamiliar with X-23.
X-23, whose real name is Laura Kinney, was first introduced in the Marvel mythos way back in 2004 through the "NYX" comic book miniseries. Just like Logan, X-23 also has the so-called super healing factor that was further buffed up with superhuman agility and strength.
Meanwhile, Mangold told Comicbook that the film will be set in the year 2029. He explained that one of the goals of the film is for him to have more space working around with the project without getting entwined with other timelines that were showcased in past "X-Men" films. Furthermore, he even compared comic book film sequels to a TV series with big budgeted episodes adding that such offerings stopped offering fresh ideas.
Here is the final teaser trailer for the upcoming "Logan" film that is slated to hit the big screen on March 3:
