Roman Reigns looks at Kevin Owens while holding both the U.S. and Universal Titles.

The WWE Royal Rumble 2017 is just several days away and the match card is already loaded with big matches. The latest rumors about the event have revealed that Kevin Owens and A.J. Styles could end up retaining their respective titles at the Royal Rumble.

According to Cageside Seats, Roman Reigns will eventually win the Universal championship but it might not happen at the Royal Rumble. The WWE could hold off until after WrestleMania 33 with Finn Balor close to coming back.

The first-ever Universal champion is reportedly close to being cleared to return to the ring. He is set to undergo a medical some time before the Royal Rumble and he is expected to be cleared to return to the ring. He could end up entering the Royal Rumble, win the match and challenge for the universal title, per Wrestling Inc.

On the other hand, Pro Wrestling Unlimited reported earlier this week that WWE chairman Vince McMahon is leaning towards Styles retaining the WWE title and defeating John Cena at the Royal Rumble. It should be noted that Cena will miss more time after WrestleMania 33 to film his new movie.

The WWE chairman has been changing his mind over and over again which means the plans for the Royal Rumble are not finalized until late Sunday. Nevertheless, it will be one of the biggest events in WWE history. Check the list below to see the official updated match card for the event.

  • A.J. Styles vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship
  • Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns in a No Disqualification for the WWE Universal Championship (United States Champion Chris Jericho is inside a shark cage)
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley for the Raw Women's Championship
  • Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella & Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss, Mickie James & Natalya in Six-Woman Tag Team Match
  • Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson for the Raw Tag Team Championships
  • Rich Swann vs. Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
  • Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax

The WWE Royal Rumble is on January 29 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The Kickoff Show starts at 5:00 p.m. ET and the main show at 7:00 p.m. ET. It will be shown live only on the WWE Network.
