Released in 2016, the LG G5 is one of the flagship smartphones of South Korean multinational electronics company LG.

LG is expected to launch its LG G6 flagship Android 7.0 Nougat smartphone in the following weeks after its reveal in MWC 2017. One new leaked photo now shows its new and refreshing design.

One noticeable difference between the LG G6 and the LG G5 is that the screen takes up almost all of the space according to the leaked photos obtained by CNBC. The high screen-to-body ratio will be appreciated by those who want more things to see and touch on the display itself.

Staying true to the earlier leaks and speculations, the leaked LG G6 photo shows a metal and glass design motif. The color of the device in the image seems to be silver and it also looks thinner than the previous G5 product that did not do well in sales.

LG G6 specs include the beloved 3.5mm stereo headphone jack and water resistance, The Verge reported. There will be no more modular features which made the G5 unattractive to the public in the first place.

Regarding the size, the new smartphone is expected to sport a 5.7-inch display with 1440p in pixel resolution. There is still a possibility that it will use an OLED screen but an LCD is more likely considering LG's choice in the LG V20. OLED display screen panels are prefered by most because they use less power as black portions of the screen are not lit up at all.

Analysts still believe that the G6's success may do little to change LG's fate. IDC research director Francisco Jeronimo told CNBC that LG has a problem with brand awareness with regards to its customers.

LG G6 specs, release date and final pricing are expected to be unveiled at the upcoming MWC 2017 in Barcelona. It will be launched earlier than the Samsung Galaxy S8.
