After sharing to the public the source code, Luca Todesco made his true his promise of an iOS 10.2 jailbreak, which is an upgrade of his previous Yalu JB tool. The tool, called Yalu102, is now ready to download and install but be warned that it is in beta build.

That would mean there will be some form of inconveniences when installing and using the jailbreak solution, which Todesco said will work only for 64-bit iOS devices. Specifically, the supported handsets are the iPhone 6S/6S Plus and the iPhone SE. The jailbreak can be used too on the iPad Pro.

As earlier indicated, Yalu102 cannot be applied for now on the iPhone 7 series but according to WCCFTech, "support might be added for the aforementioned devices in an update to Yalu jailbreak." And who knows, Todesco and his team could perform a bit more of magic and extend the tool's usefulness to users of the iPhone 6 series, the iPhone 5S, other iPad models and perhaps 32-bit iOS devices.

That happening soon remains to be seen but it should be worth the wait. Meantime, it's important to note that Yalu102 is a semi-tethered jailbreak and that being said there are quite a few considerations to think about before taking the plunge.

First is the reality that the solution will require a re-jailbreak every reboot, which for many is not really troublesome and will not deter them from taking the tool for a spin. Also, the fact that Yalu102 is on its first beta build indicates that it will not be an easy jailbreaking experience ahead - there will be issues that will only get resolved in succeeding beta releases or the finalized version of the software.

The wise thing to do or at least to be safe, according to iDownloadBlog.com, is hold off for now, stay with the official iOS 10.2 release (not iOS 10.2.1, just to be clear) and wait out until the final version from Todesco is out. If a bit impatient, a gamma release will actually do, the report added.

Then from there, "you should be able to move up through the releases without a problem," iDB said.

So when the decision is to test drive Yalu102 now and get to know what Todesco's take on iOS 10.2 jailbreak is all about, head out to this download link to get the tool. Of note when installing the hack is that Yalu102 requires side-loading with the use of Cydia Impactor, and an Apple ID will come in handy during the installation process.

For the full tutorial on installing the Yalu102 jailbreak, iDB shared a pretty comprehensive guide on the subject that can be viewed here. And when all is set and done, one would find that Todesco's iOS 10.2 jailbreak is fully usable as the tool has enabled Cydia Substrate by default so there is no need to wait now for the rumored version of the JB tool from Pangu.
