iOS 10.2 jailbreak finally available, doesn't work on iPhone 7

An Apple iPhone 7s is seen in the upgraded Apple store on Regent Street on October 13, 2016 in London, England.

Apple customers can now finally use the iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool released by Italian hacker Luca Todesco. However, the tool itself is not finished and is still in beta form with no final version in sight.

The jailbreaking community has been clamoring for a working iOS 10 jailbreak since the new version was released by Apple. Pangu managed to demonstrate a working jailbreak during the mobile operating system's beta phase but there seems to be no tool released by the hacking group.

Jailbreaking allows iPhone and iPad users to install cracked applications and make endless customizations with their devices. Apple does not usually grant customization options because of their close-sourced operating system.

Todesco's Yalu iOS 10.2 jailbreak worked with other devices but is not compatible with the new iPhone 7 models, Forbes has learned. It also works only on devices already on the iOS 10.1.1 version and not for those who suddenly want to jump straight to the new version.

The tool is currently in the beta stage and Todesco seems to be fed up by all the criticism from the jailbreaking community. More people are giving him negative feedback because the tool does not work all the time despite it being just free to download.

Todesco's new iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool currently works for the iPad Pro, iPhone SE, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, BGR reported. The hacker did release his source code used for the jailbreak tool. Other hackers may try a crack at it to release a final version but no one seems to have stepped forward yet.

Pangu and TaiG are still silent about any iOS 10.2 jailbreak updates. They have not released any tool since the iOS 9.3 jailbreak in 2016. The problem could be that Apple did a good job at locking up the vulnerabilities in their new updates.
