"Pillars of Eternity II" will still be set in the world of Eora and will still focus on the protagonists known as the Watchers.

Developers over at Obsidian Entertainment were pretty much surprised with the overwhelming reception they got from the crowdfunded "Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire" In less than a day, it has reached its target amount and continues to get funded signaling that the sequel is indeed happening.

At the time of writing, the campaign has attained 138 percent of its target goal and is currently at the $1.5 million mark. This made its crowdfunding endeavor reach another milestone yet again by surpassing the $1.4 million stretch goal that would make players choose two sub-classes per class by the time it is released, according to Obsidian as cited by Fig.

As the developer's successful campaign is about to reach its second stretch goal which is $1.6 million, the said achievement will allow a level cap increase from level 16-18 including a Russian localization. Moreover, its third stretch goal of $1.8 million will add the seventh "Deadfire" companion - the priestess Xoti not to mention the Polish localization feature.

In a statement obtained by PCGamer, Obsidian's Feargus Urquhard stated that they have the best fanbase there is. He added that it is fans that made the first game reach such acclaim and at the same time a huge sellout when it was released that they are counting on them once again for "Deadfire."

Apart from the content of the aforementioned stretch goals, the game's second installment is said to feature upgraded graphics and a more advanced AI for a more challenging gameplay. A new weather system is also hinted that is said to change while playing the yet to be released sequel.

For the uninitiated, the first "Pillars" was originally crowdfunded in Kickstarter initially named as "Project Eternity." By the time it was released in March 2015, the game has been financed by over 70,000 backers and has accumulated a little less than $4 million.

Here are a couple of clips for "Pillars of Destiny 2" and its crowdfunding launch:
