The playable character dodges two bouncy cats in 'Ninja Spinki Challenges!!'

Game developer Dong Nguyen and his team at dotGEARS, responsible for the popular game "Flappy Bird," have released a brand new free-to-play game. Titled "Ninja Spinki Challenges," the new app focuses on several mini-games instead of just one.

Some of the included mini-games include dodging bouncy cats or rolling ninja bombs, shuriken throwing and jumping over rolling fruits. There are a total of six mini-games in "Ninja Spinki Challenges" and players can unlock an endless mode, Game Rant reported.

Gameplay is similar in theory to "Flappy Bird" in that players can accomplish each mini-game with simple touch gestures. Tapping, swiping and vertical slashes across the screen are sufficient to play the included challenges.

As with all previous dotGEARS games, there are no overarching stories or the ability to save progress. After each death, the game resets and prompts the player to attempt to gain a higher score.

Each mini-game has five difficulty settings, Dual Shockers reported. The game is for free but an video ad plays after each challenge ends. There are no microtransactions available in the game to permanently remove the in-game ads. dotGEARS has avoided the use of microtransactions in their games.

Nguyen initially released "Flappy Bird" in 2013 but then took it down for both Android and iOS devices in 2014. At the time the creator explained he felt an overwhelming sense of guilt because of the intense difficulty and stress that the game gave its players.

Following the success of "Flappy Bird," dotGEARS and Nguyen released another popular mobile game titled "Swing Copters." The game had similar mechanics to "Flappy Bird" but the character travelled in a vertical manner instead of going from left to right.

"Ninja Spinki Challenges" is now available for free on both iOS and Android devices. The official trailer, which showcases several of the mini-games included, can be viewed below:
