Xiaomi is rumored to be working on Android Nougat for Redmi Note 3. Speculations are rife that the update would be coming soon to Redmi Note 3 and Note 4.
According to GSM Arena, the Redmi Note 3 has been spotted running on Android Nougat. The budget friendly phablet had received Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS at the end of 2016. It seems that the company is now testing Nougat update on the Redmi Note 3. However, the exact version of MIUI skin is not known. Rumors are rife that the 7.1.1 Nougat update would be accompanied by MIUI 8.
It is interesting to note that Xiaomi is testing the device not with Android 7.0 Nougat but with its incremental update - Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Hence, it is likely that the company may release 7.1.1 Nougat update for Note 3 users.
The Redmi Note 4 was launched earlier in this month to replace the Redmi Note 3. The Note 4 came preinstalled with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. If the Redmi Note 3 is expected to receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, it is very likely that the Nougat update would be arriving to Note 4 users.
However, readers are also suggested that the Nougat update news for Redmi Note 3 should be taken with a grain of salt. The reason behind it is that the hexa-core processor powering up the device has clocked at 2 GHz, but its regular processing speed is 1.8 GHz, BGR reported. In the recent past, Xiaomi is also rumored to be working on Mi 5s, Mi 4c, Mi Note, Mi Note 2, Mi Mix and Mi Max.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch full HD display and it is powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset that features an octa-core processor that clocks at 2 GHz. Its 32 GB model features 3 GB of RAM whereas its 64 GB variant comes with 4 GB of RAM.
Its main camera is of 13-megapixel that is equipped with features like phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash. Its selfie camera is of 5-megapixel. It features a rear-facing fingerprint reader. It has a 4,100 mAh battery that is equipped with fast charging capabilities.
