The new mini-series for the popular cartoon "Adventure Time" is out. It is called "Islands," and it gives some answers on some of the mysteries surrounding the series ever since it was first released.
"Islands" is an eight-part story set within Season 8 of the series, which will feature some of Finn's past, according to The Verge. It shows Finn, Jake, and Susan Strong on a boat, sailing away from the land of Ooo to explore different islands, which will run from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2.
While it might be strange for the cartoon to feature a mini-series concurrently with the new season, the set-up was done before. The first mini-series before "Islands" was "Stakes," which featured Marceline the Vampire Queen. The series explored her past as well as her fascinating relationship with Bonnibel, also known as Princess Bubblegum.
"Adventure Time" follows the life of the two best buddies Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, who travel around the Land of Ooo in search of adventures. Majority of these include dealing with the Ice King, an old wizard who likes kidnapping princesses, or receiving quests from Princess Bubblegum.
It was first recognized as a children's show due to the light-hearted story and humor. However, as years went by, the show gave more hints to a deeper story. However, it does not shed a bright light on the reason behind the fact that Finn was thought to be the last surviving human.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the Metro UK, Finn voice actor Jeremy Shader said that he wants to achieve some sort of a closure with his character. He hopes that Finn gets to settle down and end up with a Princess once the series ends in 2018.
"Adventure Time" Season 8 and "Adventure Time: Islands" can now be watched in Cartoon Network. Here is the teaser trailer for the first episode of the mini-series:
