The latest details and spoilers for "The Defenders" will feature an episode title, it director, Stan Lee's cameo and a possible season 2 soon.
Twitter username Kulturpat tweeted a behind-the-scene photo of "The Defenders" series featureing Sigourney Weaver's character Alexandria. Eagle-eyed viewers notice the clapboard slate which includes the title of the episode and its director.
The title of the episode is called "Therapy" and it will be helm by director Uta Briesewitz who is at one time directed episode 10 of "Jessica Jones" and has directed several episodes of the "Weeds", "Orange Is The New Black", "Jane the Virgin", and "Fear the Walking Dead".
It is unknown what the synopsis of "The Defenders's" episode but with the indication that Weaver's character is featured in the episode could be her debut within the show. Alexandria is described as an “utter badass” and a perfect fit for Weaver but not much in the way of specifics. Her character is a powerful force in New York and is everything that Weaver is: sophisticated, intellectual and dangerous.
It is hinted that Alexandria in "The Defenders" could be a gender swap version of "Daredevil" character Alexander Bont or perhaps his daughter. Bont was retconned in the Marvel comics to be the first Kingpin of Crime before Wilson Fisk. The Marvel Netlfix series have already gender bent one character in the form of Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss) from male to female so it would not be that surprising if they decided to do another, BleedingCool reported
Meanwhile, someone from Reddit posted another on set photo of "The Defenders" which featured Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) smiling and leaning on a poster which featured Marvel comic artist Stan Lee as an NYPD officer, which indicate his cameo appearance in the Netflix series.
Krysten Ritter also teased a possible season 2 of "The Defenders" during an interview with Entertainment Weekly as she told the publication that she is so pleased with how things are going and the smaller workload that she is already down to come back for a second season as soon as possible.
The Marvel Netflix crossover will feature Jessica Jones, Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) teaming-up to stop Alexandria and possibely The Hand in New York, while solving their own personal issues in the show.
Other characters who are added to the Netflix series include Elektra (Elodie Young), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and Misty Knight (Simone Missick).
"The Defenders" will premier sometime in 2017 on Netflix.
