The Vampire Diaries Cast

"The Originals" Season 4, episode 8 will feature Matt Davis' character Alaric in New Orleans.

According to TV Line, Alaric will pop up to bring an important artifact to Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Davis is not the first character from "The Vampire Diaries" who crossed over to "The Originals."

In Season 1, Tyler (Michael Trevino) went to New Orleans to come face to face with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and seek revenge against the latter. Matt (Zach Roerig) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) guest starred in "The Originals" Season 3 to have a separate conversation with Klaus.

At that time, Stefan seemingly asked for Klaus' go signal so he could be with Caroline peacefully. The latter also spoke with Klaus, and it was evident that the two of them still share a strong connection with each other.

Last year, "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec said that she wants some of the characters from the hit The CW series to cross over to "The Originals" when the older TV show ends in March. This way, fans will still have the chance to see their favorites, and the stories of the characters will also get to continue.

While speaking with Nerdist, Plec said that she wants to think of a way for the finale episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 to align with the stories from "The Originals" so that connecting the two shows and its characters together will make a whole lot of sense.

Plec even compared this plan with her desire to have Nina Dobrev return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. The exec said that it is something she wants to do, but it is beyond her control if it will happen.

Just last week, Dobrev herself confirmed her return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, episode 16. This means that a crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" characters is also highly possible.

"The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on The CW on March 17 at 9 p.m. EST.
