After the Mi 5 and Redmi Note 4 series, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will soon seed the latest Android Nougat firmware on its mid-range Redmi Note 3.

On the latest citing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 recently appeared on the benchmarking website GFXBench running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, which could mean that the device will be updated with the latest Nougat anytime in the future.

After the Redmi Note 3 global variant started receiving the Marshmallow update, the latest Android Nougat may be seeing an upcoming release, as Xiaomi suggested the phone being in the testing stage and may officially roll out the Nougat update sooner than expected.

However, the GFXBench listing revealed different specs as what the released Redmi Note 3 includes, BGR reported. In the original Redmi Note 3, a 5.5-inch display was released, which is smaller than the device's 5.7-inch display spotted on the listing. Meanwhile, the listing suggested the hexa-core processor's clocking speed to be 2 Ghz, while the Redmi Note 3's processor sports a clocking speed of 1.8 Ghz.

Because of that, the Redmi Note 3 that appeared on the GFXBench may suggest a Plus or Pro variant, with more powerful processor and bigger display, GSMArena has learned. Customers should take the listing with a grain of salt until Xiaomi officially releases information on the said device.

To refresh, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was sold at Rs. 9,999 at release. The Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, while its outer design features a unibody alloy body design along with a fingerprint scanner.

As per its internal chassis, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 650 processor, along with Adreno 510 GPU. The phone comes in two variants of RAM and storage: the cheap variant sports a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the high-end variant comes with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 3 offers a 16-megapixel rear-view camera alongside a 5-megapixel front-snapper. It will carry a hefty 4050mAh battery that can last days on standby mode.

The latest Android Nougat brings improvements on user experience with features such as night mode, bundled notification, enhanced security update, improved battery optimization, and multi-window support.
