Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun and Lee Dong Wook starred in the tvN fantasy drama 'Goblin.'

Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook's drama "Goblin" already ended its 16-episode run, however, the fantasy series continued to top a TV popularity chart. The tvN drama even bested the mermaid drama "Legend of the Blue Sea."

"Goblin," also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," capped off its nearly two-month broadcast by topping the Content Power Index for the period Jan. 16 until Jan. 22. The tvN fantasy drama scored 301.2 points on the said TV popularity chart, according to data from entertainment company CJ E&M and Nielsen Korea, as cited by Yonhap News.

The drama tells the story of the Goryeo dynasty general Shin (Gong) who became an immortal goblin after his immature king ordered his death. With a goblin bride prophesied to end his life, Shin lives a lonely life for more than 900 years before he met Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun) who was destined to become his wife.

With a script penned by the "Descendants of the Sun" writer Kim Eun Sook, the drama became one of tvN's highly-rated series. Viewership shares even reached the 20 percent mark in Seoul, an elusive TV rating level especially for a pay cable channel drama.

Meanwhile, the recently concluded SBS medical series "Doctor Romantic Teacher Kim" nabbed the second spot on the said TV popularity list, followed by the new MBC drama "Missing 9" with 234.8 points and 231.2 points, respectively. Landing at fourth place is "Legend of the Blue Sea," while "Hwarang" dropped to the fifth spot.

In other news, tvN recently unveiled several teaser clips for its upcoming "Goblin" two-episode special. Released through Naver, as obtained by Korea Herald, the video previews showed some of the cast members' funny antics on-set, including a special message from Gong, Lee, Kim and Yoo In Na to watch the said special episodes.

The "Goblin" two-episode special will be aired on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4 on tvN. Watch a teaser clip below:
