The Chainsmokers will release their first album and kick off a North American tour in April.

The Chainsmokers announced their major arena tour in 40 North American cities. Fans of the hit EDM duo can also look forward to their first album set to be released in April.

The Chainsmokers' album is revealed to be a "response to popular demand," Yahoo News! reported. In the said article, the duo was described feeling "bashful" about the idea of creating an album due to the "declining importance of pop music's long-dominant unit in the age of streaming".

In an interview last year, one of the members Alex Pall shared their album. He pointed out they wanted an album which tells a story and that dance albums sucks, more than anything.

"For us, dance albums suck; they are more compilations more than anything. We want our album to reflect a moment in time for us, to tell a story," Yahoo! News cited Pall in an interview with Teen Vogue.

News about The Chainsmokers' debut album was disclosed to the public when Chris Martin tweeted about it last week. Although he did not confirm his musical participation in the upcoming album, the Coldplay vocalist expressed that he "loved" the songs, according to Yahoo! News.

Produced by Columbia/Disruptor Records, the soon-to-be-released The Chainsmokers' album does not have an exact date yet. However, Billboard hinted it may due in early April.

The New York duo also announced their North American tour which will happen in 40 cities. The tour called "Memories: Do Not Open Tour" which will kick off in April will feature a new production as well. The Chainsmokers will have Kiiara and Emily Warren as special guests, Billboard reported.

Those who will purchase tickets online will have a copy of the duo's soon-to-be-released album, while regular tickets will be on sale on Feb. 3.

Aside from the new album and major arena tour, The Chainsmokers will be at the Grammy Awards next month where they had been nominated for best new artist, according to USA Today. They also scored a three-year residency in Las Vegas for an exclusive performance at Wynn Nightlife venues until 2019.
